About Ms. Wang 王老师Hey there! I'm Yi Wang, the panda with a master's degree from Wuhan University. I ventured out for adventure in 2005 and found myself in the Bay Area. While technology isn't my forte, teaching is my true calling, and I've been a 3rd-grade teacher at MI since 2016. I live in Mountain View, enjoying the beauty of nature, reading good books, and exploring new places with my tribe. When the ocean calls me, I put on my scuba gear and dive in (if my back is okay with it!). Plus, I'm a history buff and dream of touring the country with my panda stamp of approval. Right now, I can't wait to meet our young minds and stay young at heart!

As modern educators, we facilitate students' growth and problem-solving abilities while promoting empathy towards others. By modeling critical thinking, socio-emotional well-being, and a growth mindset, we teach skills in organization, time management, and kindness. Our goal is for students to gain insights into themselves and the world and learn how to achieve goals both independently and collaboratively.

My educational philosophy is grounded in the idea that all students can learn under the right circumstances and I believe that an encouraging and thoughtful teacher is among the most important elements of those right circumstances. As a Mandarin dual language teacher, I believe that learning Mandarin is a superpower, and Mandarin instruction should be fun and engaging. I hope my students will love and be proud of learning and speaking Mandarin.
